NEWS08 May 2008: Upcoming Event: Wine And Spirits - London
For importers, merchants, producers, agents, restaurateurs, wholesalers, sommeliers, in fact everyone whose work brings them in direct contact with wine, no other event offers the same opportunity to taste, meet with suppliers and winemakers and get down to business. For visitors, The Wine and Spirits Fair can be hugely beneficial. The opportunity to meet with over 1,200 exhibitors from every major producing country all in one place, and to taste the new vintage in a relaxed but professional environment, saves time and money.
Approximately 40 minutes by tube away from the city center of London, ExCel is an area rarely chosen by visitors unles their is a trade fair going on. This is a peak season for hoteliers and their rooms become booked months in advance despite the higher prices.
The hotels within walking distance to ExCel are the most popular places to stay and unless rooms are booked many month in advance, options close to fair are either heavily overpriced or sold out.
A cheaper and often more convenient choice for accommodation is to stay close to the tube lines as the tube runs frequently and great distances can be covered within minutes.
While accommodation is sightly sought in the Docklands, close to Limehouse or Canning Town, great budget hotels can be booked north of there, next to West Ham or Stratford - ExCel is only a few stops away.
Those who prefer staying closer to the city center for an opportunity to visit famous sites as well may opt for accommodation close to Victoria, Westminster or Tower Hill.
However, the best-deal hotels are also often full especially with the summer season coming up, thus reservations as soon as possible are strongly advised.
