19 May 2008: Eurosatory - for the defence and military experts

The largest world gathering of experts in equipment, services and high technologies in the defence sector, Eurosatory is where to find the latest trends in defence and security in an optimal business environment. Eurosatory is a meeting point where European institutions came to meet industry leaders. The exhibition is also a shop window where over 1,500 equipments are shown in a static or dynamic setting.

The event takes place at one of the three biggest fair sites in Paris - the Villepinte Expo . Villepinte is a suburb located north of the city center, close to the CDG International Airport. Villepinte is well-connected to the center by means of the modern TGV line. This is a high-speed rail service traveling up to 320 km per per hour. The distance between Gare du Nord and Villepinte is 25 km which is easily covered with the TGV in no more than 15 minutes traveling time.

The area where the fair is not popular with tourists which is why there are not as many hotels within close vicinity. Most of them are budget properties as well - visitors looking for first class accommodation should consider staying closer to Paris. An excellent choice is a hotel close to Gare du Nord . The fair site and the heart of Paris are both fairly accessible - both the Metro and TGV line have stations there.

With a month left before the show, most hotel offering higher standard, as well as the best budget hotels are becoming sold out. It is still not too late to make a reservation but a last minute booking is not advised as the interest in Eurosatory increases shortly before the show takes place.
